List of Changes. More Remaster Than Remake

List of Changes. More Remaster Than Remake
Digital Version is 6.4 GB (excluding patches, if any future dlc). Same game with updated visuals, quality of life improvements and harder rematch bosses post game Not a remake: No new story, mini-games or side missions. There is post game bosses where you rematch previous bosses who are now much harder to beat Takes around 10 hours to beat. Swear the game was longer when I was a kid. Maybe I had less strategy and grinded more back in the day. They didn’t change the 3d platforming which is disappointing as it was really bad especially for the mini-games. At least you can move sideways when climbing vines in Bean Valley Wish they added voice overs. Aside from that, it’s a great modernization to a classic game without altering what it was. --List of Changes 1. Improve Graphics Graphics is a huge leap to keep up with modern standards. Not pixelated and has way better lighting. There are not pre rendered cutscenes 2. Easy Mode Game has a ‘Breezy Mode’ that let you hold more items, gain levels quicker, have weaker enemies, and action commands/follow up attacks easier to execute Not really a cake walk (especially post game bosses), as some basic strategy is needed like healing up party, know what’s super effective against enemies, needing to jump on dry bones to defeat them, and basic puzzle solving/memory skills 3. Auto save Game autosaves now. Great for handheld mode when you’re on the go. Still have manual save points/blocks for when you need to retry mini-games without penalty, and revisit favorite boss scenes Save files show more info like level of party, how many gold coins, frog coins you have, play time and date saved. In original you only have name, location and star pieces collected 4. Fast Travel Able to fast travel anywhere at any time (except specific story based scenarios). Some locations even are divided into two areas where you can fast travel to Game also don’t pause every time you get an item from store or ? block 5. Action Gauge, Combat changes You have an ultimate meter that does an all-out-attack/Triple Move when full. You build up meter faster is you block or do follow up attacks successfully You can swap out party mid-battle There’s a help section on sub menu Game tells you if enemy attack cannot be blocked 6. Journal, monster list, Scrapbook, music player and play report Game now has a journal recap events. Great for those who are lost and not sure where to go or who to talk to next. Unlike the original, there are flag markers that tell you where to go on the map. Monster list give you detailed description of monsters and their weaknesses, and item drop rate Scrapbook gives character commentary on past events. Play report give you detailed stats on entire adventure like total play time, hidden treasures found, most used triple moves, most used ally, number of successful action commands, mini game records, casino records, etc You unlock music player and play report only after beating main campaign 7. More Gold Able to carry 9,999 gold instead of 999 gold. In original you feel forced to spend money, and grind more when you run out when playing mini-games that cost gold. Now you don’t have to worry how much your wallet can hold 8. Storage Box When you max out items you can carry, there’s a storage box in your house where you can put items you rarely use in to clear up inventory space. Inventory items are not stackable. No more selecting scrolling through similar items. A single item type is displayed with total amount carried instead of individually 9. No skippable events Hidden Treasures are not timed exclusive events. In original if you past a certain point in the story, the game locks you out of finding some hidden treasures. This is not the case this time around as you can go back for them at any time. At Bowsers Keep you can give up and start over at any of the Six Doors trails 10. Name changes ‘Legend of the Seven Stars’ subtitle is removed from the main title There are name tags to show who’s talking There are no cap lock words in dialogue (probably because characters are more emotive from new graphics) Mario is not called Super Mario in some dialogue Pipe House is now called Mario's House Princess Toadstool is now named Princess Peach (wish she had the new modern look also) Frogfucius is now Frog Sage (reminds me of Naruto) Yaridovich is now Speardovich Mac is now Claymorton Magikoopa is now Wizakoopa Hinopio is now Cinder Toad -Special moves: Fire orb is now Fireball Super Flame and Ultra Flame is now Super Fireball and Ultra Fireball Psychopah is now Thought Peek Light beam is now light bubble Mega Drain is now Hot Shot Comp is now Monster Toss Corona is now Flare -Some pop culture references have been removed We don’t get dialogue about Bruce Lee, Thedore Roosevelt, James Bond, Mondonna and not famous explores in Sunkin Ship clues
