Will try to find collectibles and unlock stuff on my own first and foremost, but I'll be back in case I need it (just like I did for Echoes of Wisdom) - regardless, thanks for your work on these game guides in general!
It's wild that you can boot this game up and not have Donkey Kong in the roster off the bat. It's sort of a moot point as the requirement to unlock him is super easy but I still find it's a bizarre choice when all the babies are unlocked off the bat.
The transformation unlocks are a tad annoying because of how RNG it is. But hey, it’s nice to have something to work for
@ParsnipHero I agree. It’s also weird Baby Daisy and Baby Rosalina are defaults when adult Daisy and Rosalina need to be unlocked lol
I was playing 50cc yesterday, and was getting bombarded with Blue Shells. It seemed a little ridiculous. Luckily it was 50cc so it didn't effect my placement much, but if that is the way the game always is, I am going to have a tough time with the faster classes.
I owned and have played the game, I read the in game manual, and I STILL DON’T know what ? Blocks and Peach coins do???
I finished one cup and unlocked Donkey Kong, no karts unlocked yet.
Really weird how the game is so damn cryptic
@Waluigi451 I feel the same way about transformations but at least they're not core characters. I could see how it would be annoying if you really wanted to play as one of them though and RNG was not on your side.
@LinktotheFuture I've had a similar experience on 100cc. I was surprised though how I got a horn so high up. I think the game's balance is retooled to chaos when compared to 8 because recovery time is so much quicker. That said 50cc should be a lot more relaxed than the experience you described.
@SwitchplayerJohn did you finished with 60 points? I think
finishing with 60 points awards you 100 coins (I can't confirm this is true) but I noticed that after I completed the second cup in 100cc it awards 100 coins which then unlocked a cart for me. I then won the third cup in 100cc with 60 points and unlocked another cart with 200 coins (total).
@ParsnipHero Fortunately the costumes are not RNG! Depending on what area you’re in, the food bags give a different costume if applicable. So for instance, when you’re in one of the beach areas, the food will unlock the swimsuit costume for whoever (if they have one).
At the moment it takes a little guess work but I’m sure guides will narrow down what costume is unlocked where, and you can just do it in free roam mode.
@SwitchplayerJohn as far as I can tell, question blocks and peach coins just unlock stickers. That said, I haven’t gotten all the question blocks at a course yet, so not sure if there’s an additional thing.
As for karts, they seem entirely to unlock based on coins earned. Every 100, at least initially.
@Waluigi451 nice! I'll keep that in mind.
Can we also get a guide on how to navigate all the online features, including inviting friends to you in Free Roam? I feel a bit overwhelmed with all the multiplayer features!
