Limited Run Games has been chatting to our sister site, regarding an annoying bug that's currently causing issues with its Carbon Engine on Switch 2. Don't worry, gang, they are on a fix!
In the statement to TE, Josh Fairhurst from Limited Run also dropped the fact that Clock Tower: Rewind form, will receive some "Switch 2 exclusive features" through a patch in the near future:
"...we are also preparing patches for a few of our older games, but this may take some time as we also plan to add some Switch 2 exclusive features in games like Clock Tower."
New features for Clock Tower...but what could they be? Of course, Clock Tower: Rewind on Switch 1 added a whole bunch of new stuff, such as a new opening movie, new songs, save states, interviews and comics — amongst other things — so it'll be interesting to see what could possibly be jammed this time.
We gave Clock Tower: Rewind a 7/10 in our review on Switch, saying that "we feel comfortable recommending to survival horror enthusiasts who wish to experience absolutely everything the genre has to offer." However, our review does point out that the game looks fairly archaic at this stage, so maybe we are in for a nice lick of paint? Seems ambitious, but let us dream. We'll be sure to let you know of any further announcements.
And in other old-game news, Fairhurst also mentioned that a certain soon-to-be-re-released gecho should be performing perfectly on Nintendo's new console soon:
"As a heads up, we have already submitted a patch to Nintendo that ensures our release of GEX Trilogy works flawlessly on the Switch 2."

Even better, quite curious to see what features they'll add to these games (in Clock Tower's case my guess is mouse controls) - happy to hear that they've already submitted a patch for Gex Trilogy, looking forward to eventually getting and playing that, too!
Clock Tower Rewind is a slow and repetitive game. Also, it really has slowdowns that original game on Super Famicom didn't have, lol. And there's sound lag to make things even better.
Have I mentioned untranslated scans of in-game guides and comics? Now, you know about it.
Oh, and yeah – it's a deluxe version of a ROM hack that was released in 2020 or 2021, lol.
@JohnnyMind Rewind is a lazy cash grab with performance issues. Don't spend your money on it. I've bought it, and ended up being disappointed.
@Vyacheslav333 I've already got it although luckily discounted - will still give it a try myself at some point (maybe and hopefully the performance issues will be solved at least partially on Switch 2 through the patch?) but still, thanks for the warning!

Rewind Steam launch was an even bigger mess... They partially patched it, so it plays closer to Switch version... Which is still not a good thing, lol.
I have the English language version of this on my SNES mini so I wont be getting this, judging by the above comments that is probably for the best. However, I am pleased more people will get to enjoy this great game.
I assume the patch for Clock Tower will add 4k and mouse controls, it is a point and click game after all lol
Ten bucks says mousecon, the game being very point'n'click even back in its SNES days.
Okay WayForward, now's your chance to add mouse mode control to the game. I was disappointed that this game never got proper SNES mouse back then but that was okay. Now it could be the perfect game with mouse mode for Switch 2. Make it happen. Doom I+II on Switch had mouse control mode and that feature wasn't even exclusive to the Switch 2.
Mouse control might actually make this shoddy grift of a readily accessible rom worth the ission, but they'll probably still LRG it up.
It's definitely mouse controls but they should add PS1 soundtrack to all version's as an option.

So, does this mean the Nintendo Switch 2 “Edition” of Clock Tower: Rewind will be the definitive version of the game? We shall see!
@MirrorFate2 They are literally selling Clock Tower Deluxe ROM hack that was released in 2023, lol.
