Well, this one feels like it has been a long time coming. Mina The Hollower. What's more, we finally have a release date... on PC.
This hotly anticipated Zelda-inspired adventure will arrive on Steam on 31st October, channelling all of those retro spooky vibes into the most fitting day of the year. There's even a Steam demo available right now, for those who want to see what the Shovel Knight studio has in store.
Before we go any further, we should point out that Yacht Club is still yet to confirm any console plans for Mina the Hollower, so there's no guarantee that the game will arrive on Switch/Switch 2 on Halloween, if at all. That said, the Shovel Knight popularity on Switch (he has an amiibo, for crying out loud) and Zelda vibes have us pretty confident that this will be coming our way before long. At least, we really, really hope it does, because it looks awesome.
For those who are new to this one, Mina the Hollower was announced back in early 2022, with a Kickstarter campaign that reached its goal in no time at all. It's packed with retro Zelda vibes, from its approach to puzzles to its GBC-esque pixel art, and you play as an adorable little mouse. What's not to like?
We'll be keeping an eye out for some kind of Switch 2 confirmation over the coming months. Let's hope we don't have to wait too much longer, eh?

Hyped! Im not sure what else to add to that, haha
I'm glad it's finally coming; looking forward to it.
Hopefully the release date is universal across all platforms. This has been pretty much the only thing shown so far that I actually care about. This show has been surprisingly awful
Bout damn time. Felt like forever until this thing would come out.
I backed this game FOREVER ago. So happy to see it finally releasing this year.
Considering the big success that Shovel Knight has been, it would be crazy for them not to release it on both the Switch and the Switch 2. (And I suppose Playstation and Xbox too.)
I'm a backer for this. It's been so long I often forget though! Hoping it does still come to switch as I pledged for a physical switch copy!
I’m so excited for this. Shovel Knight is one of my favorite games of all time.
I feel like I've been waiting an age for more info on this one.
Loved Shovel Knight, and this really looked good! Hopefully it's coming to Switch 1 and 2 (I can't see why it wouldn't)
Freaking finally! Shovel Knight is fantastic and this looks great too. These guys seem to be excellent designers. I hope the game sells well enough to justify the long development time.
Outside RE9, this was the only highlight of Summer Games Fest.
Hell yea. Can't wait!
Kickstartered this one. Had me thinking Classic Gameboy Color Zelda games from Nintendo and Capcom.
Cool! Hope it’s better than Blossom Tales. Something just didn’t click on that one for me.
It’s also been confirmed for PS5 so I guess Switch will follow soon.
Yo I hope they have a 3DS port.
In all seriousness my wife got my treasure trove on 3DS years ago, and I felt like it was a gag gift cause she knows I like shovel knight so much and it's probably my favorite way to play. Not a lot of stereoscopic 3D 2D pixel art games, other than the Nintendo and Sega ones.
Back on topic I'll be grateful for a switch 1 port.
This is looking good. To tide me over I might have to check out that Pipistrello and the Cursed Yo-yo game Nintendo Life reviewed recently as they both seem quite similar to one another. Both seem heavily inspired by 2D Zelda, have a similar looking main character to one another, but set in different time periods.
It seemed to have been in development for ages. Glad it’s finally coming out and hoping for a Switch 2 release date around the same time as PC.
it's very cool, thank you very much for the news
Except that we already know that it's at least supposed to eventually come also to Switch (and PS4, PS5 and whatever that Xbox is as well) according to its Kickstarter which I've backed, too - regardless, so glad that it finally has a release date at least on PC!
@Tipehtfomottob Pipistrello is absolutely amazing. It instantly became my GOTY, and I wasn't even expecting it. I recommend trying the demo on the eshop. I was hooked in minutes, and it was a quick buy for me.
I'm so buying it day one!
Two things: 1) I thought the wait for Metroid Prime 4 was killer, but this has been almost as bad for me. 2) Yacht Club Games needs to find a way to speed up their releases, for real.
