It's finally upon us, the last weekend before Switch 2. We have one last chance to throw our backlogs a concerned look before a line-up of launch games gets added to the pile, so let's go out with one last hurrah, shall we?
You'd think that this week would have been a little 'quiet before the storm' vibes, but there's actually been quite a lot to keep up with. We got the next Pokémon Presents showcase will be coming our way in July.
Elsewhere, the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app landed a new features coming to the NSO N64 app.
Quite the week, eh? So, what's everyone doing to see off Switch 1 in style?

The weather is looking good this weekend and next week promises a lot of gaming, so I'm planning to take it easy on the playtime front. Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars on GBA to keep me going through the inevitable delays and jam-packed services.
But otherwise, a bit of sun, a bit of BBQ, and a bit of constantly checking my bank for confirmation that my Switch 2 payment has finally been taken.

I’m still tinkering with The Hundred Line here and there, but I must it that with the Switch 2 mere days away at this point, I’m spending a bit less time gaming in general at the moment; just to give myself a bit of breathing space before the avalanche hits.
I read a lot though, so at the moment, I’ve got two books on the go: Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park (via a stunning Folio Society edition I bought a while back) and The Road to Jonestown by Jeff Guinn on my Kindle. I find a nice combination of fiction and non-fiction is the way to go most of the time! Have a good one, folks.

It really happened last weekend: Closure for a story that was left unfinished a decade ago. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is most certainly one of my desert island games, and the possibility of a proper sequel is just too sweet to ignore. After all, Monolith has been quietly working on something these past years, right?
My physical Capcom Fighting Collection 2. This could very well be the best Capcom compilation yet, my arcade stick will surely see a lot of action this weekend.
My game of the week is… the waiting game! For these past few weeks, and to ensure that all goes smoothly on the 5th, I have executed my plan to the letter. The new TV is hooked up and ready for the arrival of the Switch 2. If my next week’s entry is just me pasting “Mario Kart World!!!” repeatedly, you will know it all worked out.

I caved in. I have Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time ready to… steal my time. The Switch 2 version launching next week pushed me over the edge. Confession: I never played the 3DS game, so this will be my first taste of Fantasy Life, which honestly sounds like a combination of things made specifically for me.
The other thing Fantasy Life will steal time from (probably) is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, which I’ve just started and I’m having a blast. If the weather is nice where you are, get out there, because next weekend, many of us will have a Switch 2 in hand, and sunshine is the last thing we’ll want. Enjoy!

I'm playing Fantasy Life i like my life depends on it. Which, in a way, it does. Because it's about Lives. Do you get it? DO YOU? DO YOUUUU????
On the opposite end of the cheerful/morose spectrum, I finished Expedition 33, but it's such a delightful game that I don't want to leave. Luckily, there's TONS of post-ending content to mop up like a greedy little child licking gravy off the plate, and a New Game+, although that's a significant investment when I have so many other games to play. However, I know that all the dialogue and scenes that baffled me in my first playthrough (and there are many) will gain new and horrifying meaning in a second playthrough, plus I'll get to keep all my hard-earned Pictos...
...but I really should get around to playing Hundred Line. Uchikoshi and Kodaka? Danganronpa? It's a wonder I haven't played it yet. I love a murder game!

This time next week, Mario Kart World will be old news and we'll be bleary-eyed and knee-deep in Knockout Tours. So, before the excitement of a new console launch, I'm looking to chill the beans way, way down. As I have over the past few weeks, I'll be hitting Thank Goodness You're Here, a game I don't think the 4K output of the Switch 2 will improve. Have a great one, everyone - we'll speak again when the next generation has arrived.
That's what we have planned for the weekend, but what about you? Let us know in the following poll which games you're planning on booting up over the next couple of days.

This weekend I will have some tries at Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles and Castlevania Legacy of Darkness! This year I have beat many Castlevania games for the first time so training to be better in more is my goal
On the side I have Quake 1 and Cyber Shadow
Happy gaming everyone!!!
PS: I do not think that the Switch 2 will sur the greatness of the Switch 1. But that is just my opinion
I might see my friends tomorrow night instead of tonight since Monday will be a holiday here in Italy, but apart from potentially that I'll continue with my schedule of alternating between:
Hey everyone.
This week I finished Ender Magnolia.
What a beautiful game.
Played it on hard and got the good ending. Took me 40 hours to get 100% completion.
Loved every minute of it.
Also started Catmaze.
A cute little Metroidvania from the same developer as Fearmonium which I also enjoyed.
Also started Hello Kitty Island Adventure with the family.
This game has surprised me at how good it actually is, really enjoying it.
Set up my new games room this week.
Finished 2 of my 4 cabinets with my Switch collection, Cube, Wii, Wii U, 360 and PS4 collections.
Still have my N64 games and consoles to go.
It's my 55th birthday on Monday so I have a big week planned thanks to Nintendo releasing the Switch 2 to celebrate my birthday 🤪
Have a great weekend everyone, I know I will.
I'm currently playing Fantasy Life i on my ROG Ally x. Am around 20 hours in. Very good, as chill as you want it to be, and with lots of different systems to tinker with... but, boy, is the camera a pain!!! For some reason, camera movement on the Y axis is painfully limited. You can't pan up that much, which makes seeing ahead of yourself really quite hard. Did they do that to limit the draw distance? I don't know, but it is really quite infuriating. I find myself constantly checking the map to see where I am, because it is impossible to look around in any meaningful way. Especially annoying when inside caves, as you can't easily check for exits. Still a great game, but I am really hoping that they can address that. Have a great weekend, guys, and please take great care of yourselves out there.
Started playing Super Mario RPG, I’m having a lot of fun so far.
Super Mario 64 and original Metroid NES
(I am so backlogged, so likely no Switch 2 for me regardless)
I mean there is not much to play on S2 so I wouldn't be too hasty with the goodbyes
Off to see Karate Kid: Legends shortly! Also a library visit, but will also play a little bit more of KIRBY STAR STACKER (NSO). I am in the final stretch having unlocked 'Insane Mode'. About 20 more levels to go! I love it. It fast became one of my favourite puzzle games.
@Summer235 You are in for a treat. One of those games you wish you could experience again for the first time I find. Said it before, but Mario RPGs (Includes Mario + Luigi & Paper Mario) are my favourite kind of Mario game.
@Princess_Lilly Right? I feel people are writing this off a bit quick!
Diablo Immortal (PC) Still enjoy this story wise. I reached max level on my Tempest so I feel I am just about done with the story but not 100% sure.
Madden. 25 (Series X) Just about to start the post season in my third year.
XDefiant (Series X) One last run for me with this great game before the servers shut off for good.
My 4th (and last) weekend with Mario & Luigi: Brothership. It had a lot of good moments, but was way too long.
Also a bit of Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
And have to find out, what to start next. Suikoden? Octopath 2?
Last night I started my playthrough of The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy. Is it smart to start a huge new game this close to a new console launch? Probably not, but I'm doing it anyway because I felt like it.
Elsewhere I'll be continuing my obsession with Expedition 33.
Bon Gaming everyone!
Tiny Tina's wonderlands! Got gifted in epic and I've always wanted to play it so why not. A strange first with borderlands saga lol. Happy gaming everyone!
Finishing off Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, super fun game, I highly recommend it
After that I'll go back and finish Dark Souls 2 on my PC, I started it a week ago and then took a break from it not just to play Pipistrello but also because it started to really annoy me but I want to get it done just so I don't have to play it again
I’ve been enjoying Samba de Amigo: Party to Go (the iOS game) lately, so I’ll probably jump a bit more into that. I see VGP has Samba de Amigo: Party Central (the Switch game) at $15, so I just put an order on that.
This weekend I will have some tries animal crossing:new horizons
ysX:nordics, the legend of heroes:trails through daybreak, the legend of zelda:tears of the kingdom, the legend of zelda:hyrule warriors age calamity, the legend of zelda:breath of the wild
This week I will be mostly playing
Pac-in-Time
New Super Luigi Bros 2
Slowly playing Paranormasight, waiting for Thursday to arrive.
Also P5R and Lost Records: Bloom and Rage on PS5 Pro
Last weekend without the Switch 2
To a T. Absolutely fantastic Takahashi wholesome goofiness. As of right now, I’d say it’s overtaken Blue Prince for being my favorite game so far this year.
Playing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and Tetris Effect Connected this weekend, as well as BPM: Bullets Per Minute.
Hope you all have a great weekend! ✌🏻🧡🎮
Clear out this weekend of old Switch stuff and the trusty OLED. A few days of being Switch less and some extra spending money for Thursday.
If I make enough, I'll probably order the GC controller and some extra games for launch.
Resident Evil 4 OG Randomizer!
I just got past the water hall, and if you know anything about Resident Evil 4 OG, especially the randomizer, you know this room can be incredibly toxic lmao. It was SO cursed. Two Mendez, a Regenerator, plenty stun rod guys, a couple rocket launching guys, some of those big armored island ganados. Probably the most difficult part of the game right there lol.
Switch - nothing this weekend as I don't have a backlog.
PC - Lumo, Xenotilt: Hostile Pinball Action and Tetris Effect : Connected.
@Freek wishing you a very happy birthday for Monday
@AmplifyMJ
Thankyou.
It's going to be a great week.
Playing final fantasy VII to get ready for the remake on the switch 2 - So far it is very good. Might also throw in a few rounds of balatro as it slowly took hours away from my life during the week.
More Xenoblade Chronicles X, in which I haven't felt compelled to touch the main story for 20+ hours of gameplay (I steamrolled chapter 4 then got SO.MANY.SIDEQUESTS.). I am of the belief that at some point I may get a cat. This excites me more than the promise of a skell.
Also a couple of rounds of Vampire Survivors, which has been every bit as brilliant as I was told. Currently making my way thru the Castlevania portion when I need some mindless fun.
And it's my third anniversary with my wife, although next month marks the 20th anniversary of us meeting. With respect to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, I got her some pinned bugs for her collection, to include a flower mantis that she's been after but had no way to go find 😁. Life works out in strange ways and time gets by you before you realize it, so make sure you stop to catch some cool bugs.
Happy gaming everyone!
Trying to beat Rise of the Third Power as my last game before switch 2 arrives.
Beat Wings of Endless yesterday which was a really fun metroidvania, although a bit unbalanced.
I'm having a hard time liking Doom The Dark Ages but will continue in case it get's fun eventually. I'm only at level 5 or 6 but i having more fun with every other Doom game including 3
On Switch: Wilmont Works it Out, Pinball Spire, Nice Day for Fishing, Pipistrello, & Alruna.
My eldest turned 18 yesterday so in the middle of prepping for a garden party with the extended families today.
When I’ve had chance I’ve been playing Doom 3. Should just about finish it by Thursday I think!
I would like to try the other campaigns that it comes with at some point but those can wait for switch 2!
So played Neva over a couple of sessions last weekend after borrowing from my partner. Beautiful artwork and soundtrack. Glad to get to it at long last.
Other than that, will be continuing Clair Obscur (I started before one of my workmates and he's now powered past me so need to get back on it). Might be playing some Great Ace Attorney Chronicles too, just starting the 2nd case of the 2nd game so still early doors yet.
Have a great weekend when it comes folks!
Mario Kart 8 DX and Deathloop. Probably some more Quake because I just beat the base game.
Maybe some Xenoblade Chronicles X DE, as well.
Balatro. Lots and lots.
Actually I’m going to be in a tent all weekend camping with my church people — not something I would ever choose to do on my own but I think my daughter will love being outside all day so… no games for me this week.
I thought I might be able to finish The Messenger before we left but didn’t make it. I think I need like 15 more of the green medallions. Fun game!
I did start Witcher 3 yesterdayfor a 2nd playthrough, but going to put it on hold incase of a Switch 2 version🤞🏻
Jumping in and out of the following.
Strange Brigade
Star Wars Hunters
Mario Kart 8
There will be no Switch 2 in sight for me for a very long time, so I'm not saying goodbye to my Switch 1.
This week I've beaten Afterparty, which was quite enjoyable. Not as good as Oxenfree 2, but by the time I had reached the ending, I had realized how much I had enjoyed the characters and direction of the story. I know people complained they weren't as strong as Night Studios' previous works, but I still liked the different direction it took.
This weekend I'll be playing more River City Girls 2. I've gotten my daughter into the co-op, along with my wife, and we're having a blast wailing on thugs in the city. With the addition of more people in co-op, it's making it much more fun than the first game (which I still did enjoy).
I'm also thinking of starting another game today. It may be Little Nightmares. I also want to get into my copy of Persona 3 Reload on the PS4 this week.
@Mana_Knight Have fun watching Karate Kid! Seen it two days ago, good old school fun.
I'm playing some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a game called Mighty Goose which is like a Contra game, it's fun and on the easy side. You can also buy upgrades too, it's pretty cool.
Also a workout on Ring Fit Adventure. Happy gaming everyone 😁
Hello
Hope everyone is doing well. This weekend I’ll still be playing thru windwaker HD on the WiiU but going to stop playing ridge racer 3D which I have enjoyed much more than I thought I would and give super monkey ball 3D on 3DS a try instead. I’m also going to play Gleylancer on switch which is a game I’ve wanted to play for so long and finally going to do it! Also I keep having a few blasts on Kirby star stacker on NSO which is a lot of fun 😀 Have a great weekend and enjoy whatever you play everyone 👍
Am gonna try out Valfaris which I just bought on sale. Love me some 2D run n gun action. Apart from that some Ringfit in the evening and more of the Switch2 waiting game. Happy gaming and waiting!
I’m playing PAC-MAN platformer Annalynn. Speedrunning it this time.
Some assassins creed shadows on PS5 Pro.
Does this game look beautiful and now with PSSR no foliage shimmer, so much better
And a bit more RT in performance mode.
Nothing as I some my Switch. Bring on the next generation!
Ringfit adventure and fitness boxing as usual.
Expedition 33 on ps5, what a game! I was hoping I'd finish it before the switch 2 but I'm not so sure, I'll be cutting it close if I do.
I did want to play some switch 1 games, kinda of a last hoorah type of thing, I was thinking of finally getting to the end game of Pokémon violet, or having a runaround in xenoblade 3 or totk but this isn't looking likely. Only so many hours in a day, and so little time before the new console comes into my life.
@DemonKow congrats on the anniversary 👍
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. I’m very near the end of Atelier Yumia, after that I’ll start Nightrein. Still on the fence about going to a midnight launch of Switch 2. I’ve never been to a midnight launch before. Midnight lunch? Yes. Midnight launch? No.
I'm working on finishing up Lunar 1 on Lunar Remastered Collection (Switch) .
I imported Ganbare Goemon Tōkai Dōchū Ōedo Tengu ri Kaeshi no Maki (DS) and am playing that together with the kids since they like Goemon games.
My kids are also playing Super Mario RPG (SNES Classic) and Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu! (Switch).
Finally, we've been playing TMNT: Shredder's Revenge as a family (Switch). This one's always in the Switch rotation with Sunset Riders, Mario Kart 8, and Super Bomberman R.
@jfp It was excellent! I really enjoyed it. Think they did everything right with it. I think Cobra Kai and this are some of the best examples of doing legacy sequels. I would also rate Ash Vs. Evil Dead in that picture too, for the TV show at least.
This week(end) I got the platinum trophy for Doom: The Dark Ages. It’s truly an extraordinary FPS. My initial impression was lukewarm. I felt the essence of DOOM was absent, but the more I played the more I became enamored with what it was trying to do mechanically.
Once you get past its lengthy tutorial stages the game ramps up the significantly. You are provided a plethora of weapons and upgrades that all feel unique and fun to use. Meanwhile, exploration is rewarding and feels more confident than its predecessors.
Overall, The Dark Ages is probably my favorite out of the trilogy. With that said, I could go back and forth any day of the week because each game does something unique that makes it stand out in ways that suit my play-style. Either way, these are a fantastic set of games that are worth adding to your catalogue.
In the last two weeks, I have obtained the platinum for Doom and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which is my personal GOTY. Both games are emotionally draining in their own way, so I needed to change up the pace.
That brings me to Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo (Nintendo Switch). This game rules. If you are a fan of top down Zelda-like with a dab of Metroidvania elements, this game is a must play.
As the title suggests, your main weapon is a yoyo. It’s such a great weapon that intertwines real life tricks such as Walk the Dog as learned abilities that really expand how you interact with exploration and combat. There are many variants, with a large amount of abilities I’ve yet to find, so I’m curious how the game evolves.
There are also upgrades, but they are handled in a way that is a challenge in and of itself. You’re essentially renting them until you can pay off the loan. While you are doing that, certain upgrades may take a life point away from you until you pay back the money whilst learning the skill. It’s a keen balance.
You can see the developers were inspired by classic Zelda games. There are numerous secrets to uncover, one of which is heart petals. Once you find enough of them, you gain an extra life. There are also main dungeons to progress through. They all have a unique locale, and are really fun and clever, making you utilize what an actual yoyo can do. The way these dungeons are set up, and how you’re able to interact with the environment via the yoyo, it’s fun manipulating how to dispatch your enemies.
Speaking of enemies, this game is genuinely challenging. It plays like your typical 2D action platformers, but in a top down view. Moreover, it’s not just the enemies you have to worry about, it’s the levels themselves. The game is constantly moving, making the environment just as much as a threat as the bad guys. I’ve died numerous times, but it always feels like my fault. Thankfully, the game is generous and saves your progress every new room you enter, which is often.
I’m about eight hours in total, and I’ve completed two main dungeons out of four (I believe), along with a ton of optional content. I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface of this game because looking at my upgrades and abilities that I’ve yet to find, I see nothing but endless possibilities. This game is going to be special, and I hope it gets the attention it deserves.
Finishing Ace Attorney Phoenix Wright Trilogy and playing some Mario Kart 8 for one last weekend before Mario Kart World launch
I bought Fantasy Life i last friday. In that time I have put 80 hours in... I have not had a game consume me like this since I was a wee cub. It just has this sort of hypnotic power over me
Yoshi's Woolly World. Completed Wind Waker HD last weekend and, now that I still have the Wii U hooked up, was looking for a game from that generation that I hadn't played yet. Heard good things about it. Found a copy at the local CeX.
Have a good weekend everyone!
Wrapping up the Sea of Stars DLC
Gigantamax Rillaboom weekend in Pokémon Go.
I'm knee deep in Hogwarts Legacy.
To be honest the game is pretty mid as an open world adventure with lots of busy work. Even the dark arts aren't very much fun.
That said, it will make a good S2 game if the port is decent. Sitting doing all the busy work in handheld while someone else has the tv would work well.
Happy weekend and gaming everyone. I've been organizing my games a bit this week in hopes I manage to snag a Switch 2 next week. I have also been playing:
I'm hoping to finally get some longer play sessions of Red Dead Redemption (Switch). It's definitely growing on me and I keep getting torn between main quest stuff and side stuff.
I'll also try to get more Snowrunner (Switch) in. I've gotten really far into the Ontario, Canada map and it's been a real doozy. Last weekend I finally repaired ALL the damn water towers which should really help clear the way for remaining work to be done!
this weekend I'll be playing:
fallout new vegas
star trek legends
star trek online
the witcher 3- bought this for the switch as I wanted a another massive rpg to sink my teeth into and so far its fitting the bill.
Besides the usual RPG franchise binge pool from Xenoblades and Personas to Castlevanias and Ateliers, the advent of the Azuma adventure begets a particular itch for the sim RPGs from the other Rune Factories (I even squeezed RF4 back onboard for the occasion despite focusing on 3 and 5 as of late) to other genre gems like Portia, Mineral Town, Potion Permit and Deadcraft; I'm also eyeing the long wishlisted Grow: Song of the Evertree but that investment likely won't happen this weekend, especially after I already just pulled the trigger on Risk of Rain Returns and used it to fill most of the remaining storage gained from the KotOR shelving; I might gain more if I actually manage to mop up the last Burnout Paradise bits (implying it won't take me until November or so to spot the last two smash gates🕵), but then those extra 4 Gb might instead prompt more archive juggling towards the return of Sakuna whose protagonist, lest we forget, will be a guest NPC in Azuma as well!).
Other Switch moods include a variety of roguelites (Downwell, Caveblazers, Undermine, Little Noah, Tallowmere 2, Vampire/Twilight Survivors and the aforementioned Risk of Rain) and a bunch of other variably frequented playthroughs (PowerWash, Mudrunner, Ara Fell, Guacamelee, Skyrim, Lost in Random, Crisis Core). The more stationary platforms are likely ruled out this time, but there may well be time and mood for a bunch of handheld sessions like Fantasy Life (but of course), Chase Begins, Eternia, Neptunia, Dishonored, Payback, FFXIII/XV and Morrowind (blame Reddit for that last one😂). And yeah, with Minsk retailers seemingly settling on 1799 BYN for next Thursday's most important release (after Azuma, I mean), chances are the hardware lineup involved above will remain more or less the same until late June as predicted.
Astro Bot Final Fantasy IX Final Fantasy VII Remake on Hard difficulty Xenoblade Chronicles X and Pokémon Legends Arceus again while I wait for Pokémon Legends ZA on Switch 2.
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga (GBA), Metroid Fusion (GBA), Final Fantasy III (DS), and Mario & Luigi Brothership (NS). Playing through the first for the first time and it is great. Metroid fusion is a pretty tight, fast-paced entry. FFIII is one that I have yet to play in the series. And lastly, my daughter loves Brothership so we are playing that together. Happy gaming!
Decided to focus on MK8 Deluxe until the next Direct as I want to replay Prime 2 and 3 before Prime 4 of which the next Direct feels like the last chance for Prime 2+3 Switch port. Legends Z-A being in October instead of the usual November Pokemon slot makes me think Prime 4 could be as early as August.
Already it's our final weekend of the pre-Switch 2 era! My one modest goal before S2 launch was to finish Xenoblade Chronicles X: DE. I think I'm on the cusp - I just want to collect enough parts to craft one Ares skell and then start up Chapter 13. With discipline, maybe I'll still have enough time to clear the deck for Mario Kart on Thursday.
As much as I've loved XCX, I've dedicated almost all of my gaming time to it since its March 20th release and I'm ready to sample other delicacies at this point. In the interim, worthy games like Hundred Line, Neva, Assault Suits Valken Declassified, and Capcom Fighting Colle 2 have all delivered and sat untouched on the shelf. The backlog guilt is real!
I almost feel a strange relief that Nintendo invented game key carts to take the fun out of buying physical games on Switch 2. It'll be an excuse for me to slow down on the purchases and better enjoy what I've already accumulated.
Wishing everyone a fun weekend and don't forget to show some love and appreciation for our 'ol pal Switch Uno! 🕹❤️👏🏼
The daughter and I have been playing Capcom Fighting Collection 2 since Friday and we’ve settled on Project Justice as one of our faves.
Happy gaming all
I wrapped up Stellar Blade on Thursday, and might fire up some Expedition 33, or just leave gaming on the side until the Switch 2 drops.
Gonna be getting together with some non-gaming friends for a pot luck today, which means I won't get to play as much Eldin Ring: Nightreign as maybe I'd like. We did a few runs yesterday. Still haven't beaten the third day, but we're getting our feet under us on the exploration parts, so I expect it's just a matter of time.
We're scheduled to begin playing some weekly Monster Hunter Generations on Switch with our cousin, which should be fun. I dropped off MHG on 3DS pretty fast, since I think I was still burned out from playing so much of 4U. We'll see if I'm not too burned out on MHWilds this time.
We finished doing Halfpipe with every racer on F-Zero X, as well as our Mario Kart marathon. It remains to be seen what we'll get up to next.
(Also, more Xenoblade Chronicles X and Fashion Dreamers, and, if I can figure out how to beat B-Rank decks, Shadowverse Champion's Battle)
I'm not getting a Switch 2 any time soon but I'm on a Gamecube roll these days thanks to friend that was selling his games.
I just beat Luigi's Mansion and I'm currently playing
Star Fox: Assault
Currently on Mission 3. Having some issues with the controls, but the gameplay feels solid.
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean
A 2-disc game. Just started so I'm still getting the hang of the gameplay loop. I'm hopeful one day I can get that copy of Baten Kaitos Origins I saw in my city.
Tales of Symphonia
Another 2-disc game. Just started.
Mario Party 6
Have had this game for years but never played too much to determine if I like it or not. Now I'm back to answer that question and to get everything I'm still missing.
I also play some NBA Street V3 on the side. That is if the disc doesn't throw me a "Game Disc could not be read" error message.
Last week I got Luigi's Mansion and Star Fox and just yesterday I got Baten Kaitos and Tales.
@Freek
Happy Birthday!!🎂🎉
It’s nice to know I’m not the only one in their 50s around here. 😅
Have a great week!
Good evening.

This weekend I played PS4 games on my PS4 Slim machine. 🤓
1. Harvest Moon Mad Dash
2. Overcooked All You Can Eat
I'll be tying up loose ends ahead of Switch 2's launch.
I'm in the middle of a Civ VI run as the Incas — just eliminated last night. (Sorry, they forced my hand!) And now Amsterdam and Japan are getting cranky with me.
I'm also filling time with Puzzle Bobble Everybubble. I'm only maybe an hour and a half in and not yet sure where I would rank this entry in the series.
And finally, I'm warming up for Mario Kart World with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Happy gaming, everyone!
Still playing the Taiwanese otome, Falling for Yaoguais, on Steam. I've completed one route (and the bad ending). It's pretty good!
With switch 2 coming I am trying to get games down but I am not buying much for switch 2 at launch anyway 😂. Still playing the usual this past week and weekend.
Xenoblade chronicles X - finally got to chapter 4 after getting sidetracked to much. My only fear of big open world games or just a big place to explore in general os getting side tracked lol. This game does throw too much at you. Still love it though.
Portal 2 on switch - I am on chapter 7 I think. Lol. It’s very good either way. Having a blast with this game. Just as good as the first one if not better.
Bravely default 1 on 3ds - on chapter 7 now but about to be on chapter 8 now. Still have stupid main characters but I M hoping that I am getting close to the end.
Drakengard 1 on retroid - still trying to collect all weapons to unlock the the last ending. Have like 12 weapons left to get.
I'll likely be playing more of Okami HD. Maybe a few rounds of Tetris 99, as well. Also, exactly two weeks from now, I'll be going on vacation to see some loved ones, so I may have to do a bit of prep work for that! Have a great weekend, everybody.
I LOVE seeing the variety of interest in these polls. Happy gaming everyone. <3
2064: Read Only Memories Integral (NS) - Way darker then I had first thought. I'm now starting chapter 4 and hoping there is a tangible ending in sight.
Fragger (WP) - Almost clear of the last levels.
I’ve been playing the AW1 campaign Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp. I am on the final mission and stayed up too late saying “I’m sure I’ll finish in a few more turns.” I think I am rather slow at these turn based games and think too much about my moves. The earlier levels I was quicker at but the last two have been quite long. Good game though. I played the original a bit On Wii U VC a few years back, but have gotten more into it this time.
No Switch 2 preorder for me so I will be continuing with this or maybe taking a break after the first campaign to play something else. Maybe I’ll have another try at the final boss in Metroid Prime Remastered, go back to continuing on with TOTK, or maybe start something new.
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones on GBA, and Beach Buggy Racing 2 on PS5 (It was on sale and is actually pretty good).
@Zuljaras First time I see a physical copy of Cyber Shadow. Just love the artwork!
Alwa's Awakening - on the way to reach the final boss. The final areais carefully crafted so you have to calculate any jump and use of magic very precisely. This game is a little indie masterpiece that deserves more recognition
The Messenger - Replaying this wonderful game and having a ton of fun. Controls are just excellent, superb level design and it contains some of the best writing I've seen in gaming in many years
Resident Evil Remake (2002) finished a run playing Jill. Now I'm playing Chris
i am keeping my oled and just having both systems, i will separate my games between the systems
More xcx, 70 hours in and about to do chapter 8. Love this game so much. Monolith soft is the best. P5R I just gotta send Kamoshida’s calling card so I can wrap that first palace. I’m assuming the first palace is kind of a tutorial and the next ones won’t kick you out for story exposition as much? Can you still complete all the other palaces on the first day so you can spend the rest of the time working on social links (confidants I know)? Basically how I played 3 and 4, guess I’ll find out
Flying through Alan Wake Remastered. On Episode 5 of 6, should get it finished today! Was really struggling to get through some sections on normal difficulty, very glad I dropped down to easy. The engrossing story and thriller moments are what makes it so good, so I'm fine with the reduced challenge on this one, especially as it's not my usual genre.
Also completed the extra stories (A Requiem for Innocence and Reincarnation) for visual novel The House in Fata Morgana. There are a few short stories left, but I'm considering this game/novel complete now after over 90 hours, and sure I'll come back to the short stories later on after a break!
Continuing to play Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky on Steam. Started last week on the laptop as didn't want to start something new on console before Switch 2. I'm a few hours in, excellent turn-based RPG with a little bit of light strategy to the combat. Very enjoyable so far.
Still dabbling in Celeste post-completion. Gone back through and collected all strawberries, crystal hearts and B-side cassettes from the first four levels.
Also playing Donkey Kong Country on NSO, first time playthrough! Very fun through the first bunch (hehe) of levels.
Fantasy Life of course 😅. Have already invested +70h. Love this game 🥰
Like many others, Fantasy Life. Only played for about 12 hours or so, but I can tell this game will consume me for quite a while. Dammit.
I’m working on Super Mario 64. I just have rainbow ride and the last Bowser level to do. Currently sitting at 112 stars. It’s not been as enjoyable as I had hoped.
Xenoblade chronicles X on chapter 12 but trying to wipe out the side quests especially the character ones celica and definian downfall which have the 2 hardest boss fights.
I've been playing Deltarune for quite a while since we're a few days away from the big day.
Fallout 4 - Leveling up and stocking up my workshop completing side quests and whatever else I may stumble upon in the Wasteland.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership - Made it to Lottacoins Island. Hoping to have the second sea area finished this weekend.
@Zuljaras I didn't even know Cyber Shadow had a physical release!! That's one of my favourite games. Just ordered myself a deluxe copy from Super Rare. Thank you for sharing dude.
My games this weekend, are:
MSG 3
XCX: Definitive
Triangle stratergy
Crisis Core Final fantasy 7 and
Sea of Stars: The new dlc specifically
@DonierGunad Nice! The game reminds me of a combination between Shatterhand and Ninja Gaiden!
I'll probably be mainly playing Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam Deck this weekend. I can't see myself playing much else. Regardless, Happy gaming everyone!
@Mana_Knight true, people will probably keep playing Switch 1's enormous library for a decade at least
I started playing Toy Soldiers this morning, it seems interesting at first, but after a few hours it starts to seem very boring.
I was listening to some of the StarCraft 1 music on youtube and that was a mistake, because it sucked me into a StarCraft rabbit hole and I accidentally bought StarCraft Remastered and am playing through all six campaigns. After that I may or may not play through the SC2 trilogy all over again.
Aside from that, I am playing Monster Train 2 and might play Suikoden 2 off and on.
Before the Switch 2 (which I'm not getting yet), I went back to Sonic Forces, my first Switch game. Nearly finished with the main story, and while I'd like to 100% it for old times sake, I don't think I'm going to. Instead, I'll probably just be playing a little more Portal.
I'm probably not going to start a new game, or really get back into anything else, till after next week. I'm going to be really busy with what my church is doing. We've got services, teaching sessions, block parties, and a big tent revival going on. It's gonna be big, and God's going to do great things.
Love y'all, happy weekend, and God bless!
Some nostalgia with Frantic Freddie and Alice in Videoland and possibly finishing last couple of comets with Luigi run on Galaxy
I am about to start chapter 12 in XCX:DE, and am saving the end of the game/post-game for Switch 2. Figure it'll maybe run better, smoother frame rate, etc, or if not, it'll be nice to have in a larger handheld. In the meantime, I've been grinding levels and Joker/Necro for endgame weapons and armor (can't seem to get my Ultra Diamond Saber though 😭).
5 days left everyone! It's coming fast and it's gonna be awesome!
I'm mostly playing my beloved collection of 15 or 16 mods, but also much else. Just read that The Swapper was updated so I loaded it up and it looks wonderful locked at 90fps. Noita, by one of the same devs, also is super fun, but I can only get it up to 60 (don't see an easy option to increase). Also been playing The New Tetris, Starfox Assault, Starfox 64, StarVaders (great new deck type game!), Kingdom Two Crowns, Baba Is You, Red Blue Cell (great STG I just found out about), SF Rush 2049 (might be the greatest arcade racer ever), wipeout phantom edition (actually the best), Tinyfolks (wonderful and charming RPG type game), mariO (incredibly fun Mashup of Mario Bros and Portal, plus it runs super smooth)(and has tons of mods), A Webbing Journey (cute as hell spider game, but it has a thing like BallisticNG where it doesn't render frames correctly, it will say 90fps, but it looks more like 35 or 50fps), Alruna and the Necro-Industrialists (awesome GBA looking game), Strafe (fun 1st person shooter), and Super Demo World (great romhack).
I've also finally made major progress in UFO 50. Got gold disc on Mooncat, so fun! Then after beating it (at the basic level) I discovered you can run, then discovered you can sort of diagonally dodge down and forward! So many secrets to look for now. I also finally got gold disc for Party House (my favorite, but I still haven't even started about 8 games). Also playing Bushido Ball, Caramel Caramel, and Velgress a lot.
Happy gaming to everyone!
@Princess_Lilly well you can play your Switch 1 games. I imagine they just mean they’ll be playing on Switch 2 hardware from now on
@Teksette
Thanks.
I plan to.
Us oldies are the pioneers of gaming 😁
I'm honestly bouncing between DQ III HD2D and The Hundred Line. I'm becoming more and more of a fan of the SRPG side of Hundred Line; it's almost EXPECTED some students are going to LITERALLY leave it all on the field to get that all-important W. 😆
i might not got all my backlog cleared on the switch 1 but ill work on that on switch 2.
I forgot to put Bayonetta Origins. Just got it and have started playing it. 😊
Wish I could be saying "Next weekend I'll be playing MKW and Donkey Kong Bananza!", but it's not in the cards until next year, so... it'll be a Switch 1 weekend until then.
With that said, I will be continuing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, sprinkling in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate and Steel Racer.
Once I squash some "life purchases", I'll pick up the pursuit to procure a Switch 2... So ready to hand my Switch 1 to my mom.
@MarioVillager92 I hope you're enjoying your time with Okami HD! If I recall, the game has a slow start, but it really gets going after a couple hours.
I've spent much of my Saturday knocking out the meatiest DLC package of Spring Cleaning 2025: Clean Windows and Doors. 2/10, can't really recommend. But...at least everything is cleaner! Other than a couple of appliances that still need cleaned, I've FINALLY got most of it out of the way!
Unfortunately, I don't have much time to game this weekend due to home ownership and external events pulling me away from screens of joy. I reached the end credits in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake (Switch) this week and am now VERY eager to play Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake this fall! Such a bittersweet ending....Not sure if I wanna do much post game content or just move on since there's a lot of grinding involved.
Still playing Fuga: Melodies of Steel (Switch) as well. I reached the beginning of Chapter 11 last time after an interesting turn of events (to put it mildly), so I'm VERY curious to see what happens next. I'm enjoying it a lot and plan to grab the rest of the trilogy sometime.
Happy gaming!
@ParsnipHero
Second that. Unlike SMB 2, 3, or World, every time I start a new game of 64, I lose interest within an hour.
Portrait of Ruin. Despite Ecclesia having the better reputation, I’m enjoying Portrait more.
@Li_Bae it’s not aged well for new but I just beat it with 120 stars. A total slog.
I actually went back and hooked up my Wii for the weekend. Playing some of the one-off gems from that generation.
Mushroom Men, Opoona, Deadly Creatures.
@DwaynesGames I LOVED that game. It didn't get me at first but once it "clicked" then I couldn't put it down. I do have to say though in my professional opinion the map system in the game has to be one of the worst I've ever experienced. It can suck my @ss!! Even with online guides it was still a pain to navigate. You'll see what I mean. Or you could be a complete bad@ss and not have a problem with it and I just suck
Folio society editions are incredible I have about 5 so far. Game wise I’ve been trying to not touch the og switch so 2 feels more new, I’m playing gears of war 3 which is short while I wait
@WCB cool thumbnail pic
@Ganner Good to know. Thanks!
I’ve heard goods things about it, but sounds like a lot of people are sleeping on it.
I really like the fairy tale narrative so far. 😊
@Grim hey man. As a man that is desperately trying to wrap up P5R before switch 2 hits (I have been playing it since 2020 on and off and am half way through the final palace, pray for me) for the most part the pattern is you can blitz through the palaces in one session and send the calling card and then you return on a second session to fight the boss.
It is a fantastic game, one of the best I’ve ever played, but the royal content has almost killed me lol. its a staggering amount of content and story, I’m 185 hours in!
Apart from that I’m playing link to the past on my GBA, just cleared the first dungeon. Delightful game which has much more in common lore wise with BOTW/ TOTK than I was expecting
Happy gaming ninfriendo fam xx
Yesterday I finished The Hundred Line - Last Defense Academy. You have to at least try it! 9.5/10 from me, I had such a great times with it! I'll be playing it again in the future for sure.
animal crossing:new leaf 3ds
No games have changed, but I've finished the third case of the second game of the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection. It was beautiful. On to the fourth case! In Trails in the Sky, I've finished Chapter 2, and have now reached Zeiss. The story is getting really good, can't wait to see how things continue! Last of all, Fire Emblem Heroes, just some side content. Happy gaming, my friends!
Playing Axiom Verge and Final Fantasy IV pixel remaster while at the hospital. Great time killers.
Just finished Metroid Dread - Dread Mode! Tough, but what do I love this game!! I wanted to do this before getting Mario Kart World coming Thursday
probably nothing. couple days ago I got 120 stars in mario 64 for the 1st time then beat all mario kart 64 tracks in a row so I feel satisfied until my switch 2 arrives.
@kid_keo oh dear lord what have I done, you’re 185 hours in?!? Haha dang. I beat p3p with like 95 hours, and p4g was maybe 120. I thought P5R would be similar. Well I’ve committed now so we’ll see what happens. I definitely want to finish before I play metaphor, and with that many hours I’ll be able to wait until I find a cheap copy of metaphor
@Reptilio thanks. Like yours as well
You should really assign a reviewer for Fantasy Life i. It's a fantastic game - GOTY, for me, honestly. It's crazy that only one of the staff "caved" to play it at all lol
