Update []: Following a recent rating, Bandai Namco has now officially locked in the date for Everybody's Golf: Hot Shots, confirming it will be arriving on 5th September 2025.
To go with this, there's also a new trailer and the news you'll unlock PAC-MAN early as a playable character when you pre-order.

Original Story: [Sun 1st Jun, 2025 11:00 BST]:
Everybody's Golf: Hot Shots was announced for the Switch earlier this year but at the time few other details were shared.

In a small development (via Wario64 on social media), the game has now been rated by the ESRB. At the very least it's a sign the game's release schedule is still on track. It's rated 'E10+' for 'Everyone 10+' and contains mild language and mild suggestive themes. Here's the official rating summary:
"This is a golf simulation game in which players select from a collection of golfers to compete in matches. During a World Tour mode, characters engage in brief dialogue that references suggestive material (e.g., “...I heard I could use it to gaze up some lovely ladies”; “...[Y]our stalkers are on a whole new level of crazy”; “Did I startle you? Or were you peeking at something naughty?”). Some loading sequences depict close-up camera pans of golfers' bodies. The word “damn” appears in the game."
There's been no mention about a Switch 2 release (at least yet), but the new hardware will be compatible with the existing Switch library (although not every Switch game will necessarily be ed). You can find out more about Everybody's Golf: Hot Shots in our original announcement post.
Will you be checking out this game when it arrives on Switch this year? Let us know in the comments.

I usually love golf games, but this one looks pretty lame.
I like this series a lot but.... uh, seems quite underwhelming? i mean, i own the previous one on ps4 (fantastic game), its been 8 years since its release and looks way better than this one.
Nice to see this rated because as usual it means that it's proceeding well - looking forward to finally giving Everybody's Golf a try now that it's coming also to a Nintendo system (expect to quite enjoy it based on what we've seen of it and that I love Mario Golf)!
C'mon Switch sport do something
It does look rather underwhelming, but I ire the sheer audacity of the title. Such a bold declaration.
Everybody’s Golf.
That’s right.
Everybody. Is. Golf.
He is golf. She is golf. We is golf. Even the artist formerly known as Kanye West and currently known as Ye is golf.
You don’t need to tell me your pronouns. I already know.
Golf/Golf/Golf
Sorry, you don’t get a choice. Everybody’s golf. That’s just the world we live in.
@Medic_alert That’s the joke!
This was pretty much the Playstation equivalent of Mario Golf on their platforms for years dating back to the PSX days. It was called Hot Shots golf in NA until the PS4 version came out and they started using the international title of Everybodys Golf everywhere. As soon as they used the Hot Shots name as the subtitle to this new entry, I knew it was a nod to what the previous games were called here in the US. It is interesting its now starting to get a multiplatform release.
@Medic_alert No worries!
@SearchingS Nintendo sports games (and third party ones) from the Wii, Wii U, and older consoles were really amazing. The Wii had many golf games. And, the Wii Fishing Resort game was spectacular.
On the Switch, the only notable ones are the Mario Tennis and Mario Golf games, which are well done with a good amount of features and gameplay elements.
I don't understand why they gave up on these amazing series! They were so fun and well done. We got 3 Mario Party games on the Switch 1 and it gets a bit boring and repetitive.
I am still happy and excited for this title but hope they add more gameplay and features to it, and of course, the Switch 2 edition as I'd never buy anything anymore for the Switch 1. Gave up long ago on that sad console.
Edit: This is coming out for the PS5, Switch, and PC. Too bad not on Xbox =(.
@Jumping_Dead Almost all of the characters and courses featured in the trailer are from the PS3 game Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds (Everybody's Golf: World Tour in Europe), so this is most likely an enhanced port of that game. So you're correct in saying that this game (basically a PS3 game) looks worse than the last game (a PS4 game).
I'm glad that they're keeping the series alive and giving new fans a chance to check it out, but it sucks that they're basically just recycling an older game instead of giving us something new.
I love Everybody's golf. Cannot wait for it to come to switch.
The games I played the most on PSP and Vita were the Hot Shots Golf games.
Basically Clap Hanz Golf, Easy Come Easy Golf… repackaged yet again!
I do enjoy the games though.
this looks awful, like a PS2 or 3 game.
Everybody With Double-digit Age's Golf.
I wonder what those suggestive themes are.
It's a little wild this game is coming to Switch because it's literally a Sony property. I feel like gaming outlets are not talking nearly enough about this, but you can bet they'd talk for months on end if any obscure Nintendo property was on another console/PC. Or even something that doesn't confirm Nintendo is putting games on PC but is an error.
@BigBluePanda Examples are given in the rating (and the NL article about it). Strange bits of dialogue...
@Jack_Goetz if you’ve not played this series before I’d recommend it if you like golf games. Is one of the best in my opinion!
@Jumping_Dead It's a slight remaster of the Vita game, Everybody's Golf 6/World Invitational, so yeah it's going to look worse than the PS4 version.
@IronMan30 People aren't talking about it because this isn't the first time Sony have put one of their games on Switch. The Patapon remasters come out next month and the Lego Horizon game got a lot of attention last year.
@crispfood2 Lego Horizon got very little attention and general dismissal from the gaming press, at large. Patapon is later, so that shouldn't factor in.
Well it's a sign it's getting closer. What they add or change or keep the same who knows as no idea how the Vita one is but otherwise fair release coming i guess.
Even to me the PSP one felt very light on content, the charm is there but eh. So no clue how the 2nd PSP one, PS3 or Vita ones are they don't seem like much really.
But arcade sports games are always welcome when they put the charm and effort in.
@Ramouz It's not coming to Xbox intentionally. Sony refuses to port games there unless absolutely necessary (like MLB The Show, but the license holders DEMANDED Sony port or they wouldn't renew their deal with PlayStation)
very excited for this one.
I own so many of these games.
the only one I don't really like was the last one on the switch.
Easy Golf or whatever
It is kinda odd, the other games were lightly anime-ish, but kinda felt like their own thing too. This one just went like full anime and i'm not a huge fan.
@jumping_dead I loved the ps4 version too, alweays something to do and weird modes... didn't find any golf game on the switch really satisfying (mario golf, nice story mode, but not the 3 click system, and not many champs, golf story nice rpg, but not for some quick rounds).. so a portable golf game, at least on 3ds level is always welcome.... still play MG world tour at times... The vita version of EG is quite nice too, so I have hopes for this a nice little release...
wonder about the pricing.. (for patapon too.... L button on my vita is broken so difficult to play, even when remapping since it also needs al lcorssquarecirciletriangle buttons)
And sony games on a switch remains interesting just got forza horizon discounted on my ps5.. strange times
@IronMan30 the first minna no golf was made by Camelot software planning, who went on to do Mario golf and the like.
It’s kind of been hit or miss since then tho. But so had Mario golf (mostly miss)
One for the bargain basement, I reckon
This game looks really beautiful and incredible. İ am very happy that Nintendo Switch 2 is getting this game. İ am not a big fan from golf games but this one İ want to play it maybe one day İ can buy it and play it.
Oh, no.
It's already happened.
The crossover with random franchise.
Even I still fine with Pacman but I already felt it will open the floodgate of random franchise characters that I do not want in the game. 🙄
Well, I just skip this game.
Man I know these games dont look like much actually graphics are pretty weak but man were they fun back in the day. Depending on control options I may just pick this up.
Nice that they are using the classic Pac-Man 3D model and not that monstrosity from Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures.
@Anti-Matter You can just
not play as them
crossovers aren't the end of the world
@Anti-Matter It won't be random though, since Bandai Namco is making the game only their IP will crossover such as Pac-Man here. Maybe Gon, I-Ninja, Don Wada, or Mappy would appear somewhere but other than those I don't think random characters from Sega, Konami, Taito, Tecmo, or Capcom will just pop up in here.
No motion controls = Not Spear's Golf.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 = best sports game ever
My boy Pac-Man!! Namco let him out of the storage closet for this one, my boy needs more love.
Cannot understand the comments stating this looks worse than the PS4 game? Of course it looks worse, it’s on Switch 1.
I loved Hot Shots back on the PS1 or 2 can’t recall. Golf is one sports video game I may play every few years. If reviews aren’t really high for this I’ll just wait for new Mario Golf
Golf games usually never really do it for me, not even in VR, as much i love the artistic style of HotShots. Unless it's a golf game that's doing some wild and imaginative that you can't simply get from playing Mini-golf or actual golf in real life, than eh. always feels completely second rate.
This looks already much better then Mario Golf for the Switch. Hopfully the gameplay is also on point.
Now this is a crossover character I expected to see considering Bandai Namco's involvement - hope Pac-Man will be included also in physical preorders (assuming this game will hopefully get a physical release in the first place, that is) and also that he will be eventually sold as DLC for those who can't preorder the game!
The last time that Pac-Man was in an Everybody's Golf game was World Invitational, though when he was in that game, he was in his Party design (not to be confused in his Ghostly Adventures design), now he is in his World design in this game.
