Just a FYI...if you preordered from Walmart, you can quickly check your preordered item status under Purchase History in the Walmart app. My Switch will arrive on Jun 5th and Mario Kart World will arrive on Jun 6th (because, yes, I did indeed pay the $90 for the physical version by choice).

Your wall ot text dismissing the value of a regular mouse as an option can be ignored with one single observation. Not all mouse mode games will need those additional features or buttons and they already controllers on Switch that lack all the buttons
If you can choose to play 2D indie games with the official NES NSO Controller I don't see why you shouldn't be able to choose to play Civ 7 or Game Builder Garage with a Logitech mouse. Or even something like Metroid Prime 4. Will you not get the rumble? Sure. Will you lose the other buttons beyond the L/R clicks? Yep. Will gyro go? Sure. But I suspect for a lot of games that use mouse mode that won't matter
I don't see an issue to having official standard mouse as an option at an OS level
@skywake I feel like something like Prime 4 would be hard to play with a USB mouse due to how the mouse only really replaces the aiming and shooting mechanics, and not the rest of the buttons that would go with the other commands. I do think games like Civ 7 or Game Builder Garage could work with it.

Another night gone and my Switch 2 doesn't seem to have been cancelled by GAME. Just hoping I get a reply from their customer service today telling me that I'll definitely have it at release.
@Jackpaza0508 Did GAME take your money straight away when you pre-ordered? They took mine, but I've seen others asking if their order is safe because GAME took their money the other day.
@VoidofLight
That's true, but again, they let you boot into and play Smash Bros with the SNES NSO controller. I don't see why they should restrict me from using a regular mouse in mouse mode games, even if it doesn't strictly work due to additional features required
Not saying that games should all be required to it. Just saying I don't see why it couldn't be a "yes, this works, just some things don't map". Otherwise you end up with a scenario where Devs have to explicitly it which means less in games that would work perfectly fine with just a regular mouse

@Jackpaza0508 I managed to get through to GAME's customer service and they said this...
So hopefully everything is good. Not liking that it'll apparently be dispatched on the 5th, but I don't mind having to wait an extra day or two as long as I'm guaranteed one.
@Bentleyma hey that’s awesome! I should probably do the same and message customer service but i definitely feel a lot less worried now. I wouldn’t worry too much about the dispatch date, at least you know it’s coming!
Have you guys all decided where the best place to go for a switch 2 carry case? I grabbed my screen protector just now on amazon for 8 smackers from amfilm.. I read online they've made decent protectors for all the switch models thus far.
@Lazz
Genuinely a great brand, and I’ve already had mine delivered… went for the grey slim this time!
Tomtoc cases were especially great for the deck, as the default/standard case provided is waaaay too bulky for my liking.
If you’re purely wanting to travel with the Switch/deck itself (and just a few game cards) then the Tomtoc cases are best in class I feel
I’d be keen to know what people choose though in cases where they want to bring everything (controller, dock, cables etc)… as the official Nintendo carry case is hugely expensive!
@CJD87 great stuff. I've always gone for the official N cases, namely the zelda ones for obvious reasons. They were never too expensive though. Maybe $20 with some game card cases. That's really all I need it for. Not the controllers or charger.
Just got back from picking up a carrying case and screen protector. Both were pretty decent prices, cause they were the Walmart brand, but both look pretty quality. The carrying case especially feels really sturdy. The next five days are gonna be painful lol.
Edit: I also put the original Switch in the case for sake of comparison, and my goodness this thing is going to be so big. Maybe now I'll be able to hold it without my hands going numb.
