If you're a fan of the severely underrated Donkey Konga franchise from the GameCube era, then you're in luck. A dedicated fan has created a tool called Donkey Konga 3.
Naturally, the catch with this is that you'll need to rip a copy of either game (which might be difficult for the latter, since it's exclusive to Japan), and load it up in the Dolphin emulator. That's not even the end of it, either, but for the full rundown on how to get everything prepped for Konga Beat, creator Parham Gholami has provided a full breakdown of what you'll need to do (it's also worth noting that this is only for Windows-based PCs at the moment).

Essentially, however, once you're all set up and you have Konga Beat ed, you can go ahead and create your own songs for use in the game. Now, we should clarify that the actual DK Bongo controllers are not yet compatible, however Gholami has acknowledged this and stated "I would like to include bongo in the near future".
There are also loose plans in place to enable for the original Donkey Konga, however there will likely be no for other Namco rhythm franchises like Taiko no Tatsujin.
We've got our fingers crossed for bongo in the near future, because that's what will really give this project a solid boost in our eyes. The Dolphin emulator does the controllers by default, so we suspect there's a bit more work to be done to link it up with Konga Beat specifically.
What do you make of this? The Donkey Konga games were always a little sparse when it comes to their tracklists, so perhaps this is the solution you've been waiting for. Let us know your thoughts with a comment down below.

This is great! But also can't imagine Donkey Konga without the bongos, could be fun to try this one they are ed
Great that such a tool is now available (kudos to Parham Gholami) if currently limited - in particular, fingers crossed it will the DK Bongos sooner rather than later!
Never played a Donkey Konga game but I love watching modders do goofy things like this. Breathing new life into already great games is what it’s all about!
I'm the developer of Konga Beat. Thank you for spotlighting it!
For clarification, songs made using the editor will work with the DK bongos, you just can't use bongos while making the tracks in Konga Beat itself. 😄
Oh, the article should probably be updated to better reflect that! @Olliemar28
Cool stuff, and even though I'm not the target group I do love that game (the GCs and bongo drums are stored in garage currently though 😅)
I will check when I get home, but it looks like you can convert the project to ISO to work on Swiss (GameCube), Nintendont (Wii/Wii U) and Dolphin (PC).
There is a way to use the Wii U GameCube on Dolphin, and it is possible to use the Bongos (you have to tell change the settings in the Controls to say it is a DK Bongo).
