More and more videos of people getting their Switch 2s early are popping up online, and the latest is probably the biggest and best look we've had at the system and its UI.
In fact, the same person who reader Zuljaras for letting us know!)
popsculture2 acquired a Switch 2 earlier today, and in an 11 minute long video, shows off all of the above and more, and there are a lot more options than we have on the Switch 1.
We're not going to dive into the video too much here, but ittedly, we know about many of these settings already as Nintendo has gradually been sharing information about the Switch 2 since its big reveal in April.
What we will say is that, crucially, as with that start up video, it's all very familiar.
We've got more confirmation on that "misdate" as when popsculture2 tries to some games from his library, he's prompted to update the console, when he gets a pop-up saying that the console is already on the latest version. The rumoured patch, which seems to allow players to play Switch 1 games, isn't live yet.
It seems like we're going to keep getting these kinds of videos right up until the console's launch on 5th June 2025. Thankfully, we're just over a week away until we can get our hands on our own units now.
Let us know your thoughts on the UI and settings in the comments.

Glad they have kept it simple like the switch.
A couple of new things like HDR settings etc, but all simple stuff really.
I wonder if Switch 2 cartridges work on this version of the firmware
PS: Thanks for the shoutout. The video is down now
It might just be me hallucinating it, but it appears to be entering/exiting the different menus quicker than the Switch 1. Not a huge deal, but cool to see!
Does it have folders and themes or have we got to wait for the power of the Switch 3?
Spoiler no spoiling
@StewdaMegaManNerd Nice Dora the Explorer reference.
Odd that Bluetooth audio is nowhere to be found?
Maybe that comes with the day 1 update.
@Enigk You have seen the screenshots of the interface, have you not? If so, you should already know that it possesses neither of those things. And I doubt the "Nintendo Switch 3" will have either of those things, either.
@Enigk
Nope. You need the power of Wii U, 3DS and PS VITA to get folders on Home Screen.
On a side note, I like how the subtitle refers to that rather pathetic phenomenon of people licking the game cartridges created for the original Nintendo Switch. It is unfortunate such a thing was going on, despite the fact Nintendo advised against it. But there are a lot of stupid people out there with nothing better to do with their lives, so I am not surprised the phenomenon got as out of control as it did.
@Toastmaster That sounds very tedious.
I finished the video, went to reload the page and it's already been copyright struck XD
It already shows the white and black themes becoming Basic Light Mode and Basic Dark Mode. That wording implies we are only ever seeing white and black themes on Switch 2, which also means that rumor about more themes being added in a future update has been debunked.
I think cartridge tasting WILL be next
@Zufolobelisk It doesn't really bother me that much to be honest but would very nice for tge people that want it. I haven't really paid attention to the home screen as it looked very much like the original Switch.
Why on earth would you want to willingly put yourself on Nintendo's radar? Cause that's what these people are doing. They'll be on a list somewhere.
And still, I'll bet everything I have I won't get mine delivered on the 5th despite there being no reason for them to not ship it early.
I like the simplicity of the Switch UI but I thought they would have atleast been a bit innovative with the Switch 2 UI. It's pretty much the exact same, has less of that new console feel/experience.
@Enigk Switch 1 has folders (well, ok, “groups”) so I imagine the Switch 2 will as well. But I also imagine that recent software is the default view and you’re still have to click into “all software” to see folders.
I wouldn’t hold my breath for themes, though. I guess an update adding them is possible, but there’s no telling when or if.
That's funny how there's an unboxing of one online and when the guy tried to play it he discovered there's a required day 1 patch before it'll work. Ha ha ha ha!
He's all like WTF i can't play it before everyone else? Yeah Jack ass it's called a release date. You get to wait until Jun 5th like everyone else.
Now everyone and their brother is on YouTube giving Nintendo hell about it like they aren't fully in their right to block it's use until launch day. The fools.
One week! Can’t wait.
@Truegamer79 need to chill bro
@ReacH
Nah people who can't wait a week need to chill. 😉
But can it run DOOM? We gotta ask the real questions here!
Still doesn't feel real that it's only like a week away!! I'm going to be so stressed waiting in line on launch day 😭
*Keycard card flavouring requires an additional now... 😂 🤦♂️
Surprised I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere but

“ The screen is covered with a film layer designed to prevent fragments scattering in the event of damage.
Do not peel it off.”
So it has a glass screen with a plastic film just like the OLED
Oh damn, this guy must have just done $14.5 million in damages to Nintendo.
@Truegamer79 good screw 'em. Seriously people hating on Nintendo for this are just angry at the world. Why wouldn't they build a patch in for this exact reason, people (ie thieves) keep leaking things or down right ripping them to pirate sites early and they dont expect companies to change.
Ol N gottem good!
@rvcolem1
Yeah when the switch 2 reveal itself was leaked? Way to suck the fun out of it morons. Wait until Nintendo is ready. Those are the kinda people who stand in line at movies and blurt out the entire plot ruining it for everyone else.
I did look at this video before it was pulled down and didn’t think it revealed much at all. More the flex of having a switch 2 early. Lucky schmuck.
I want to know if I transfer my old switch or start from scratch. I’ve not heard anything about this apart from it’s possible.
@Truegamer79 Nintendo should brick his switch.. make him cry more
@Truegamer79 in the old days they would get punched so it didnt happen much at all...
society removed swift justice
Those showing stolen Switch 2 means they stole from people whom preordered those Switch 2 units. I doubt these stolen units are theirs to start with. And the people whom are waiting for those will get shafted because now they won't get their PreOrders - how's that fair for those customers even if in Russia. Doesn't matter what Country - they should apologize to those customers whom did their PreOrders correctly. Now when these units connects online it will tell Nintendo they were unauthorized units and the timestamp will give them away when they were turn on and they will get Bricked and Banned by Nintendo. So how smart were they here? Do people not the 2017 Stolen Switch that someone posted a video of and was found by Nintendo and forced to return the Switch and the employee got fired and most likely blacklisted by Nintendo and their company.
