Level-5's new release Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time made its official debut on the Switch and multiple other platforms this week and it's already hit its first major sales milestone.
Following a mostly positive reception from players so far, the game has now shifted over 500,000 copies. Apart from Switch, this factors in sales on PC and PlayStation 5. As part of the celebrations, Level-5 has shared some new artwork on social media:
"Fantasy Life i has officially sured 500,000 copies sold worldwide! To show our gratitude, we’re releasing a brand-new illustration!"

The developer further notes how this is "just the beginning" and it hopes fans continue to enjoy their new "slow life in Reveria to the fullest".
The title is proving so popular the team has already announced some free DLC. It seems the game is also off to a fantastic start on the eShop as well, trending in select regions.
Have you tried out the new Fantasy Life on the Switch yet? How are you finding the experience so far? Let us know in the comments.

Oh, I haven't tried the game yet.
I'm waiting for the PS5 physical version get released in my country Indonesia.
It will be pretty expensive here, almost 1 Million Rupiah, but it will be worthy for my PS5 machine.
I hope with the great sales of Fantasy Life I so Level-5 will consider to release the USA version in physical since they will release free DLC stuffs and the DLC must be same region as the games.
Not particularly surprising considering the overall positive reception and it being multiplatform as mentioned also by the article but still, love to hear it - so looking forward to playing it myself as soon as my Switch physical copy arrives (at this point I'll start playing it immediately, won't wait for the Switch 2 upgrade and will try to make space for it despite all the games I'm currently playing and ones)!
I usually don't watch let's play in the game I'm interested in buying but man this game is fun to watch too. I just want to know the switch 2 upgrade resolutions and framerate before buying it, if it's 120 fps I'm playing it on switch 2 since my tv and pc monitor is only 60hz, if not it's either on steam or ps5 since the price is annoyingly the same (usually steam is cheaper in my country).
I can't be the only one waiting for the Switch 2 patch / edition. Pretty sure they're going to get a nice sales bump on June 5, or whenever that update comes out.
Did not realise Fantasy Life was so popular. Always assumed it was a niche series. Glad to see Level 5 net a much needed win.
This is great to hear after all the negativity before release, I knew it would be a great game!
Going multiplat was a good play. It's been hanging out around the top of the charts on Steam since release, and it runs beautifully on my Deck with a minimum of tinkering.
That 24-hour peak on SteamDB keeps creeping up from day to day so far. I expect the next 500k will be approaching rather quickly.
@MamaSymphonia Honestly, it's a good move. The HDR looks really nice in this game. It deserves to be enjoyed on something other than Nintendo's creaky old 2017 tablet.
I mean, it's worth playing regardless, but if you can wait a bit and have a better experience, why not, right?
Impressive, and with no reviews anywhere!
I'm still waiting for my japanese copy but my import store send it yesterday, may be I'll get it on monday. I think it would sale better if they release a physical version in the west.
i need to see a review first..

ed and started on PS5 last night. After a bit of a slow start IMO, I'm starting to gain some momentum and am enjoying it.
I've been playing it on Switch and having a great time so far. I'm excited to move to Switch 2 and see the graphics improvement. (Not that it's bad on Switch, it's probably among the nicest looking/running games on there.)
I was going to try it but I prefer to go to Rune Factory first. I like games in which there's lots of dialogue, relationships and interaction with characters. I might try it later though.
I'm almost 25 hs in and I'm still not sure if I'm having fun. I'm occupied, sure, I'm killing time, I'm distracted, but I'm not 100% having fun I think.
@inenai This is how I feel about it. It’s something to do, but the story is.. really lame honestly. I am carrying about business as usual but.. I kind of want my money back. I maybe jumped the gun too soon.
I've had the PS5 version since the 18th and I've put around 25 hours into so far and absolutely loving it. There's a lot of content to keep you busy and a lot to explore, the game is also forgiving with its loot so there's no real need to do any of the crafting lifes if you don't want to. I'm focusing more on exploring and the fighting lifes and I've not encountered any issues, in fact I'm a level 25 magician clearing shrines with level 45 enemies with ease and that's without crafting my own gear so I'd also says it's quite an easy laid back game.
And in other news water is wet.
But in all seriousness it’s great that it’s doing well. I’m looking forward to playing it soon. I’ve been holding out to play it on Switch 2.
I didnt even know this series existed until I saw it on here. Good for them, maybe my wife will enjoy it
This why multiplatform makes sense square. Now port whatever game you make exclusive on nintendo to PS/PC please.
@DiggleDog It was a pretty niche series back when it launched on the 3DS. A lot of people are just discovering it- mainly through word of mouth with this new game I think.
I am loving the game so far. The only reason I am not pla at the moment is because I used up the whole charge playing.
So does the Switch physical preorder from VGP get the fairy bonus experience code?
Glad to see Fantasy Life i doing well! Was sad seeing Level 5 catch all that flak from their various stumbles over the past few years, because I still like them as a developer and wish them well!
I love almost everything about Fantasy Life i... except for the character models. I find the stick figure proportions as well as the eyes and faces strongly unappealing for some reason. But the mechanics and gameplay I would love to see in a Monster Hunter spinoff! Capcom should reuse their old school assets but with smoother animations for a cozy life sim.
I've really been enjoying this game. I bought it on Steam so I could play it on both my PC and my ROG Ally. Great that it has cross play. Already tried playing with my friend who has the Switch version, and it works pretty great.
